SACA Call for Director Candidates
The SACA AGM is scheduled for May 8, 2025 and we are starting the process to find qualified candidates to join our Board with the commitment and willingness to provide meaningful contribution to our community. The commitment involves actively participating in our monthly meetings and taking on a lead role, often involving heading a committee, to operate our core fiduciary responsibilities, operations and initiatives. We are both a governance and working board so everyone needs to work together and honour their commitments to their fellow directors. Preferred candidates are familiar with the SACA mandate and have participated in the volunteer activities of our Association and/or similar volunteer community activities in another organization(s).
We are looking for people who have four key attributes – competency, experience, a track record of service and above all, faithfulness to complete their mandate and responsibilities. Terms are a minimum two years and directors are expected to complete at least the full two-year tenure. As with any board, we are looking to have a robust succession of qualified candidates and currently have opportunities in marketing, communications, finance, and leadership roles. The SACA Board experience gives you opportunity to develop skills and experience, apply learnings across multiple areas of influence and broadening exposure into new opportunities. It is an applicable experience for young professionals developing their vocations and mature individuals to continue applying their experience.
