Introducing September Sustainability Month!
Repair Cafe – September 14, 10am – 3pm
Have an old vacuum that needs fixing? How about a knife that needs sharpening? Come by our repair cafe and give new life to old items. We will be having small appliance repairs, clothing repairs/sewing, bike repairs, and an expert who will teach you how to sharpen your own knife using their professional equipment! (All knives must be brought wrapped in cloth to ensure safe transportation)
If you are handy or have specialized knowledge and wish to help keep items from going to the landfill, email us at info@scenicacresca.ca
EcoHouse/Green Living Celebration – September 14, 3pm – 5pm
One of the many gems of our amazing community is the Calgary EcoHome. A fully self-sufficient home, with no gas, water or sewer lines. The home is run on renewable energy sources, outdoor gardens/greenhouse, and filtered rainwater. It is the EcoHomes 30th year since completion and to honour that achievement we will be holding an event in celebration of the home, it’s owners, and sustainable living practices. The event will feature tours of the home, discussion of sustainable practices, local sustainably-driven companies, and cake!
This event will take place at the green space beside the EcoHome
9211 Scurfield Dr NW

Utility Box Painting – TBD
We are excited to announce we will be getting our very own utility box painting this September! We have chosen the talented artist, (and Scenic Acres Resident!) Kirsten Bollen for the job. Her website is kirstenbollen.com if you wish to go check out some of her other works! Stay tuned for more information regarding the unveiling of our newly painted utility box.
