Our FREE Family Day Skate Event was a magnificent and heartwarming gathering that truly brought the community together. The event was special not because of any expensive and lavish set-up, but because of the simplicity and pure joy that everyone experienced. Friends and families linked hands, skating around the rink with laughter echoing all around. Patient parents carefully laced up their children’s ice skates, guiding them as they experienced the thrill of being on the ice for the very first time. A father and daughter duo practicing their skating routines and countless skate train conga lines. We also witnessed a few unique skating aids used by newbie skaters, ranging from chairs and bungees jumpers to full-on strollers so everyone in the family could take part in the fun. 

The event took place on February 17th, 2025, at Crowchild Twin Arena, and we were thrilled to welcome over 340 attendees. It was a vibrant day filled with fun and connection. 

Our event sponsor, Leslie Schmeiler RE/MAX Realty, graciously shared her delicious hot chocolate with everyone, adding warmth to the chilly day. Youth volunteers stepped up to give back to the community, adding whipped cream and treats to the hot chocolates to make them even more special. Additionally, our artistic glitter tattoo helpers provided beautiful designs, adding a touch of sparkle to the day. 

Overall, the event was a true testament to the power of community and the joy of simple, heartfelt activities. Thank you to everyone who joined us and made this Family Day Skate Event an unforgettable experience and thank you to Crowchild Twin Arena for providing us with the space to hold this event. We look forward to more heartwarming moments with you all in the future!
