The Scenic Acres Community Association operates and maintains a number of community facilities. Located in the quite neighbourhood of Scenic Acres on leased land from the City of Calgary at 8825 Scurfield Drive NW, Calgary, is the Scenic Acres Community Centre. The Centre is a one story building with a Main Hall, Kitchen and a Boardroom. Both the Main Hall and Boardroom are used by SACA to offer a number of programs, services and clubs to SACA Members.
The facility is also available for rent. The facility is currently rented by a number of clubs, sports groups, arts groups and individuals who provide programs and services to the wider community. Time is also set aside for members of the association and the wider community to rent the facility for one off functions such as Anniversary Parties, Family Celebrations, Weddings, Birthdays, Dance Practices, Piano Recitals and Meetings.
SACA also operates two Beach Volleyball Courts, on which it runs volleyball programs, provides Drop-In time for community use and allows rentals by community members, coaches, teams and tournament organizers.
Adjacent to the community centre and Beach Volleyball Courts is the East Field available for rent on it’s own or with part or all of the Community Centre. This area is idea for mini-sports and games for young children.
SACA also oversees the maintenance of the Tennis Courts and Basketball Courts located on Scenic Acres Drive NW, Calgary.
SACA also works with the City of Calgary and local residents to re-develop Community Playgrounds within the community of Scenic Acres. The Scanlon Green Playground and Scenic Glenn Close Playground are examples of community playgrounds which have been re-developed within the past 5 years through such a partnership.
