Join us for a Jane’s Walk through Scenic Acres Saturday, May 5 at 11:00 am commencing at our Community Centre. Please meet by the picnic tables under the veranda on the west side of the building. This years’ theme will be the background, work to date and future plans for our community green spaces through our LEAF (Landscape Enhancement Appreciation Fund) program.
Jane’s Walk is a series of neighbourhood walking tours. Named after urban activist and writer Jane Jacobs, Jane’s Walks are held annually during the first weekend in May to coincide with her birthday. Jane’s Walks are led by volunteers, and are offered for free.
Explore, learn and share through our scheduled Jane’s Walk in Scenic Acres.
The walk will happen rain or shine, is a free event and no registration is necessary. Please wear suitable footwear and dress for the weather. The walk will encompass several interesting stops along the way and volunteer leaders will share their knowledge,
but also encourage discussion and participation among all of the walkers. It will be a way to learn something new as well as share what you know with others and most importantly, have some fun! We look forward to seeing you there!
