Court use will be on a first come first served basis. If you wish to reserve the courts please contact the SACA Office at scenicacresca@shaw.ca/403.547.9589. We recommend the use of personal hand sanitizer by all users of the courts prior to entry, while playing and upon exiting the courts.

Jun 28, 2021: With Canada Day approaching, we are mindful of the grief our Indigenous friends and neighbours at large are dealing with, compounded by the recent tragic residential school discoveries. Our nation’s compassionate and respectful nature is celebrated on Canada Day.  Consultation with the Indigenous community and with Scenic Acres’ residents has led us to conclude that a car parade would not be respectful or compassionate during this time of grief.  Thus, the SACA will not hold a car parade this year on Canada Day.  Please reach out to scenicboard@shaw.ca should you wish to discuss this further.

We encourage all to elevate awareness, to be thoughtful and kind, especially during this difficult time.  Online resources include the Truth and Reconciliation Commission of Canada (http://www.trc.ca/) and The National Centre for Truth and Reconciliation (https://nctr.ca/)  A plan is underway to host a learning opportunity in Scenic Acres, with the assistance of our Indigenous partners, likely around September 30th, as a means of assisting with reconciliation and personal growth.  We invite you to share your thoughts with us around this Learning Opportunity at: https://www.jotform.com/scenicgm/eoi-indigenous-perspectives. More news on this initiative will be communicated as event details are finalized.

Respectfully,
Ike Zacharopoulos
President, Scenic Acres Community Association
