April 22, 2020: Today is Earth Day! We all have a role to play to keep the earth free of garbage and litter. SACA would typically be asking volunteers to gather for a pathway clean-up. Due to the Pandemic we can’t gather, but there is nothing to stop us heading out to clean up our green spaces, while practicing physical distancing. SACA is challenging everyone to head out this weekend to clean up a green space close to home! Learn more on our Ravine & Pathway Clean Up page.

April 18, 2020: SACA should have been opening our doors to our Spring Fling Shopping Extravaganza today! Amid the Covid-19 crisis, this isn’t possible, BUT many of our vendors offer online sales, so we’ve moved it online! Mother’s Day Gifts, Teacher Gifts, Gifts for you! Click here to browse!

April 14, 2020: Thank you everyone who is out for a walk in the community for practicing physical distancing! Need support? Not sure where to turn? SACA has created a Covid-19 page with a variety of links to local support networks. We’re also here to help with our army of Helping Hands! We have an army of volunteers to assist with a wide variety of tasks from Grocery Pick Up to Virtual Reading via Zoom, Facebook or Facetime. If you would like to connect with someone in the community or can offer your support to someone else please email scenicacresca@shaw.ca or call 403-547-9589.

March 17, 2020: Effective immediately the Scenic Acres Community Centre and SACA Office is closed indefinitely. We will be monitoring the facility, phone messages and email. If you need help please reach out to us at scenicacresca@shaw.ca or call us at 403-547-9589. We’re still here for you!

March 15, 2020: In light of the most recent update from the Province of Alberta and confirmation that two people in Calgary have contracted Covid-19 via community spread, as opposed to Travel, SACA has decided to suspend all SACA Programming (Exercise Classes, Seminars and Clubs) for at minimum the next two weeks. In addition, we will be postponing or moving on-line all our events through to the end of April. Follow us on Social Media where we are regularly posting advice related to Covid-19 along with self care practices published by credible sources. Our handles are scenic.acres on Facebook / @scenicacresca on Twitter and @scenicsaca on Insta. The SACA Office will remain open for the time being to help facilitate those who need assistance. If you are able to help someone who is self-isolating please contact the office scenicacresca@shaw.ca or 403-547-9589.  If you are self-isolating and need help please reach out to us by email at scenicacresca@shaw.ca or call us at 403-547-9589.

March 12, 2020: SACA like our community schools and other public spaces is proactively working to maintain a clean and germ free environment at the Community Centre. At this time we are operating as normal, but we are monitoring all advisories from the City and Provincial agencies such as AHS and will follow all advice given.
